A Bit About Me

My name is Melania Rogers

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Northridge and have spent nearly 20 years walking alongside individuals and families through some of the hardest seasons of their lives.

Throughout my career, I have provided individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, and mental health support to people navigating trauma, mental health challenges, life transitions, and moments of crisis. I spent 10 years working within justice system settings, including providing mental health services with probation youth and serving as a mental health counselor within a Washington State prison. These experiences gave me a deeper understanding of high-stress environments, security-focused cultures, the importance of trust, and the emotional toll that comes with carrying responsibility for others.

During my time with the Washington State Department of Corrections, I also served as an in-service instructor for correctional staff, providing education on mental health, suicide prevention, and intervention. My work has allowed me to support individuals experiencing a wide range of concerns—from situational stress and life transitions to complex mental health challenges and severe psychiatric symptoms. Across settings and populations, trauma has been a common thread in the stories I have witnessed.

I have a deep appreciation for the unique challenges faced by first responders, law enforcement, military members, veterans, and their families. Through specialized training working with military and veteran populations, my professional experience in justice and public safety environments, and my own personal life alongside a retired Marine and retired law enforcement spouse, I understand the culture of service, sacrifice, and the weight that often comes with it.

As a mother and stepmother, I also understand the complexity of parenting, blended family dynamics, and the challenge of caring for others while trying to make space for yourself.

My approach is practical, compassionate, and straightforward. I understand that many of the people I work with are used to being the strong one, the helper, or the person others depend on. I'm not here to take over or fix things for you. I'm here to walk alongside you, help you make sense of what you've been carrying, and provide the tools and perspective to help you move forward.
