About
A Bit About Me
I earned my Masters in Social Work from California State University, Northridge and have dedicated the last 16 years to a rewarding career. Throughout my journey, I've provided individual, group, and family therapy, as well as crisis intervention services to diverse individuals and groups. During my tenure with Washington State Department of Corrections, I also took on the role of an in-service instructor for correctional staff, educating them on mental health and suicide prevention and intervention. My experience encompasses treating a wide range of diagnoses, from situational stress to severe psychotic disorders, with trauma being a common thread throughout.
Collaborating with law enforcement and first responders has been a significant part of my career. I strive to create a safe space for them to debrief their experiences and identify the tools needed to manage themselves in the aftermath, providing another avenue to serve and protect those they encounter every day, as well as themselves.
My extensive experience in working with children, teens, and their families, combined with being a mother myself, has ignited a passion for working with mothers. I offer skills, education, and a space to process challenges mothers face, understanding the significance of supporting them in raising the next generation.
I firmly believe that "everything is figureoutable". This means that all obstacles are opportunities for growth, and we all have the ability to change how we respond to these obstacles. As your therapist, I will provide a safe and confidential space to figure things out while being an honest and compassionate advocate, support, and guide.
In my practice, I use an eclectic approach, drawing from different evidence-based practices such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Seeking Safety to best meet the needs of each client's unique situation. Together, we will craft a plan of action and work towards achieving your goals.
